The underside edges of a side-by-side get hit more than most riders realize. Slide off a rock, drop into a rut sideways or roll over a stump, and the lower sides of the machine take the blow. On a General 1000, those rocker areas sit right under the doors.
Our Wild Boar Polaris General 1000 Rock Guards/Nerf Bars are built to take that abuse instead of your machine. The set of two is CNC formed, finished in black powder coat and includes all the hardware you need.
What the rocker area faces
Between the front and rear wheels, the lower sides of the General hang out where rocks, logs and rut edges can reach them. A hit there can crack plastics, bend the edges of the frame or damage the floor. Those repairs add up quickly, and some of them can leave the machine out of commission for a while.
How rock guards help. Rock guards mount along that lower edge and give the machine a stronger surface to slide on. When you drag over a ledge, the guard takes the contact. They also act as nerf bars, giving some protection against brush, trees and other trail hazards that brush up against the sides.
A step for getting in and out
On a taller machine, especially one with a lift or bigger tires, a rock guard also gives passengers a handy step. That can make climbing in and out easier for kids or older riders.
Built for the General. These guards are CNC formed for a precise fit and finished in black powder coat to match the machine and resist weather. All mounting hardware is included.
Pairing protection
Rock guards work best as part of a full plan. Many General 1000 owners combine them with a skid plate and A-arm guards so the underside and sides of the machine are covered. With protection along the rocker area, you can pick tougher lines through rocks and ruts without worrying as much about the damage a slip might cause.
Fitment, please read
These rock guards fit the Polaris General 1000 across all years, but they do not fit General XP models. Double-check your model before ordering. If you are unsure which General you have, or have questions about installation, give the Wild Boar team a call at 850-912-4350.
