The Can-Am Defender HD10 RackBoss 2.0 Rack and Pinion<\/a>, from SuperATV’s RackBoss brand and available at Wild Boar ATV Parts, is built to replace a tired factory rack with a heavier-duty assembly.<\/p>\n

Why racks wear out<\/h2>\n

The rack and pinion turns your steering input into side-to-side movement at the wheels. Every bump, rut and rock pushes back through that system. Bigger tires make it worse because they have more leverage on the steering. Over time, internal parts wear and slop develops.<\/p>\n

Dual PTFE bushings.<\/strong> The RackBoss 2.0 uses heavy-duty dual PTFE bushings with RackBoss’s patented X24 Tech. According to RackBoss, these bushings are designed to prevent wear, reduce slop and improve overall durability. For a Defender that sees hard work and bigger tires, that means steering that stays tighter for longer.<\/p>\n

Tie rods built to be serviced<\/h2>\n

The assembly includes swaged tube tie rods. They use 14 mm outer tie rod ends, and the inner tie rod ends are rebuildable, using 3\/4-inch rod threads and 16 mm rack threads. Being able to rebuild the inner ends means you can service worn parts instead of replacing the whole setup.<\/p>\n
