Most Rubicon owners do not set out to replace their floorboards. They set out to put bigger tires on the machine. Then they discover the stock footwells sit right where a taller tire wants to go.
That is why we make the Wild Boar Honda Rubicon 500-520 Floorboards / Footwells. They fit the 2015 and newer Honda Rubicon 500 and the 2020 and newer Rubicon 520, and they are designed to give bigger tires the room they need.
The real reason to swap footwells
On many ATVs, the factory floorboards are shaped around the stock tire size. Add a taller or more aggressive tire and the tread can rub or catch the plastic when the suspension compresses or the bars are turned. Our high-clearance footwells are shaped to clear bigger tires, which is why riders consider them part of a tire upgrade rather than a separate project.
Metal where you plant your feet
Factory plastic footwells crack, flex and get chewed up by rocks, sticks and mud. These floorboards are powder coated in flat black, which gives them a clean look that blends with the Rubicon and helps them stand up to the weather. They also come with footpegs, so you still have solid footing when the trail gets rough or slick.
No cutting, no drilling
A lot of riders hesitate to modify a Honda they plan to keep for years. With this kit, there is no trimming or drilling required. Everything you need to mount the floorboards is in the box, along with the footpegs. That keeps the install straightforward and means you are not permanently altering the machine just to run the tire size you want.
